Zhu Rongji: Further reform of state-owned enterprises

Zhu Rongji said the country should continue further reform of state-owned enterprises to make them main body of competitive market. The key point is to set up and better a modern enterprise system.He said the country should encourage state-owned large-medium enterprises to change operating system with stock system by regular listing, setting up joint venture and holding stake mutually.To those important enterprises which have close relationship to the life of the country¡¦s economy and security, the country should be major shareholder.He said the function of the government and enterprises should be separated. Administrative approval should be lessened. Organizations such as chamber of commerce, business association should play active roles.Competitive system should be introduced in the reform of management system of power, railway, airline, telecom sectors.
