Asia Satellite Soars 2.44% to close at HK$16.8 all day

Asia Satellite Telecommunications Holdings(1135) net profit jumped 63% to HK$576.3 mln for the year ended December, 2000. Earnings per share were HK$1.48 compared with 91 HK cents in 2000. Analysts on average had expected the company to post a 54.6 % increase in net profit to HK$547 mln, according to 17 brokerage houses polled by Multex Global Estimates.It closed at HK$ 16.80 all day, up HK$,0.40 or 2.44 % on a turnover of HK$3.854mln.
