Taiwan Feb exports -- 3 (sectoral breakdown)

The ministry said February exports of heavy industrial and chemical products rose 16.3 pct year-on-year to 7.44 bln usd. Exports of electronics, electrical engineering and machinery products were up 25.6, 17.2 and 15.0 pct, respectively. Conversely, exports of information and communications products dropped 2.1 pct. Exports of chemical, plastics/rubber and base metal products were up 24.3, 11.8 and 5.9 pct, respectively, while textile exports were down 0.7 pct. February imports of agricultural and industrial materials rose 2.9 pct from the previous year to 5.99 bln usd, while imports of capital equipment fell 9.9 pct to 2.30 bln, the ministry added.
