Airport Departure Tax to rise to HK$80 from HK$50

Donald Tsang, Hong Kong's financial secretary, said he proposed to increase the airport departure tax to HK$80 from currently HK$50. Helicopter users will also have to pay the same tax. The proposal will help bring in revenue of HK$170 mln for the fiscal year ending March 2002.
