Cathay Pacific to face pressure of slowdown of US & Japan economy

Cathay Pacific Airways chairman said the company would face the pressure resulting from slowdown of US & Japan economy. He also said the company would make full use of the new facilities and improve its service to cope with the decline of US & Japan economy in the challenging 2001. He indicated that the company would keep on expending and another 7 airplanes were under consideration. Among all the ordered 14 airplanes, 7 will be available this year. He said whether to make further expansion depended on foreign economic factors. Although fuel cost may be a negative factor in 2001, expansion plan wonˇ¦t be obstructed.
