David Li, chairman of Bank of East Asia(0023) said Andrew sheng , chairman of Securities and Futures Commission, had abundant international experience and was the right candidate for vice chairman of Peopleˇ¦s Bank. It was rumored today that Mr sheng would be invited to be vice chairman of Peopleˇ¦s Bank of China.
