China 2005 foreign trade target US$680 bln, up 43.3% compared with 2000

Shi Guangsheng, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation PRC, said that China would accelerate the steps of economic opening so that the turnover of foreign trade in 2005 would reach US$680 bln, increasing 43.3% compared with US$474.3 bln of 2000. Shi Guangsheng also expected that China import and export could keep balance to sustain the long-term trading poise.
