Hong Kong & China Gas net deposit about HK$4.8 bln

Hong Kong & China Gas(0003) said the company would invest HK$671 mln to buy more transportation pipes and other equipments in 2000. By the end of 2000, its net deposit had reached HK$4.8, which would be used for development in the future.At the end of last year, the customers of the company reached as many as 1.329 mln, 64,000 more than the previous year. The sale of the gas increased by 5.5%. The company expected that its sale of gas would increase by 5% and its customers would reach as many as 68,000 this year.
