China Travel Intl plans to acquire over 300 travel agencies in China: report

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - China Travel International Investment Hong Kong Ltd is planning to acquire more than 300 travel agencies in China, the Hong Kong Economic Journal cited market sources as saying.	    The sources said China Travel will continue to dispose of its non-core operations to focus on its travel business, hotel operations and transportation business.	    As of the end of 2000, China Travel's net assets were about 6 bln hkd including some 4 bln hkd related to the travel business, the report said.	    The report also quoted company managing director Shen Zhuying as saying China Travel will invest 250 mln hkd this year in its three leisure resorts in Shenzhen, to be funded by internal resources.
