Taiwan central bank sees no need to cut reserve requirements now: report
TAIPEI (AFX-ASIA) - The central bank sees no need to cut reserve requirements at the moment amid excessive liquidity in the market, the Commercial Times quoted unnamed central bank policy-making officials as saying. However, the central bank will closely monitor developments in global financial markets, as well as any moves by the Bank of Japan or the U.S. Federal Reserve, it said. The central bank has prepared plans in esponse to the weakening foreign financial environment, including cuts in the discount rate and accommodation rate, it reported.
