Ericsson downgrades global sales of mobile phones in 2001

Ericsson announce to downgrade global sales of mobile phones this year from original 500 - 540 mln to 450 - 525 mln.The company said the downgrade of selling forecast resulted from the reduction of expected replacing mobile phones but mobile phone replacing market would enjoy fast growth in 2002 due to the popularity of 2.5GThe company anticipated the number of global mobile phone users would break through 1000 mln at the beginning of 2002.
