Hutchison Telecom acquires Australia 3G licences for 196.1 mln aud

SYDNEY (AFX) - Hutchison Telecommunications (Australia) Ltd said it will pay 196.1 mln aud for 3G licences in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Short term funding to pay the licence fees will be provided by the company's parent company, Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. This funding will be replaced by long term funding in due course.
