China plans to set up national telecom group

Zhang Haitao, vice director of the State Administration of Radio, Film TV, P.R.C(SARFT) ,said a national telecom group would be set up by the end of the year, which would provide cable, wireless and satellites broadcasting and television services.He said at a opening ceremony of China international broadcasting and television information networks exhibition that the group would enjoy over RMB 10 bln assets and branches would be set up in all provinces and autonomous regions.SARFT will be the controlling shareholder of the group with over 51% stake and all the shareholders should be state-owned enterprises, not open to foreign and private capitals.
