Singapore Telecom to acquire C&W Optus Vodafone

Cable&Wireless Optus , the second largest telecommunications company of Australia, announced in the notice that Singapore Telecommunications proposed to acquire C&W at no more than AU$4.77 per share. Accounting like this , the value of C&W Optus will reach AU$17.2 bln, circa HK$67.3 bln. Vodafone had announced to retreat from bidding for C&W Optus . It also means that Hutchison Whampoa(Australia) can¡¦t share the clients of C&W Optus with Vodafone.
