Cathay Pacific to cut cost over rising oil price and down-going US economics

Ken Barley, Vice chairman and executive director of Cathay pacific Airways(0293) , said the company would make up the loss by controlling the cost as the rising oil price and the down going of American economics might impact the company .He said there might be possibilities for Cathay Pacific and CITIC Pacific(0267) to buy the mainland Aviation Companies together while the CAAC were reorganizing .But he said there were not actual plans temporarily, for the co-operation involved many aspects.
