Cheung Kong proposes to raise issued capital by 1 bln shares

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd chairman Li Ka-shing said the company has proposed to its annual general meeting to raise its issued capital by 1 bln shares. The Hong Kong Economic Journal cited Li as saying the proposal is in preparation for possible acquisitions. However, Li said the company has no immediate plan for any acquisitions. The AGM is scheduled for May 24, the report said. Li said he has no plans to inject his personal assets into Cheung Kong.
