China Mobile seeks to acquire 18 networks from parent

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - China Mobile (Hong Kong) chief financial officer Ding Donghua said the company is seeking to acquire 18 mobile phone networks held by its parent China Mobile Hong Kong Ltd.	    Cited by the Apple Daily, Ding said that as of June 2000, the 18 networks had a combined customer base of 16.70 mln with a penetration rate of 3.0ct.	    Ding said China Mobile has taken a 80.9 pct share in China's mobile phone market, while China Unicom has 19.1 pct.
