China end-2000 population 1.265 bln

BEIJING (AFX-ASIA) - China's population totalled 1.265 bln as of the end of last year, up 11.6 pct from 1990, according to official census results.	    The population increased by 132.15 mln people since the last census in 1990, Zhu Zhixin, director-general of the National Bureau of Statistics, said at a news conference.
