Legend looking for way to write off 1.9 bln hkd goodwill from acquisition

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - Legend Holdings Ltd executive director Mary Ma said the company will write off 1.9 bln hkd in goodwill from the acquisition of Beijing Legend in 1997, but has not yet decided how to effect the write off.	    Ma was quoted by the Hong Kong Economic Times as saying that the company will need further discussions with its accountants regarding a method of writing off the goodwill.	    Meanwhile, Ma said Legend is planning to hire 10-15 pct more staff in the year to March 2002 to enhance its value-added and services businesses.
