China Q1 tax revenue rises 30.9 pct yr-on-yr to 305.83 bln yuan

SHANGHAI (AFX-ASIA) - Tax revenue increased by 30.9 pct year-on-year in the three months to March to reach 305.83 bln yuan, the China Securities News reported. The National Bureau of Statistics said total income from value-added tax (VAT) and consumption tax rose by 32.7 pct to 132.29 bln yuan, the report said. No separate figures were given for VAT and consumption tax. Tax on business income rose to 39.02 bln yuan, up 57.5 pct from the same period last year, the paper said. Customs duty on imported products and securities stamp duties fell by 3.2 bln yuan from a year earlier, it added.
