PCCW emphasizes not to decrease the shareholding of Australian joint venture

PCCW (0008) announced yesterday that the company didn¡¦t intend to decrease the shareholding of the joint venture Telstra in Australia.Arena, deputy chairman of PCCW operating committee, said that PCCW could take responsibilities of debts, for it now had more than US$ 1 bln in hand and the income from Hong Kong telecom business was also very stable. He emphasized again that PCCW didn¡¦t intend to decrease the shareholding of the joint venture.
