HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - China Unicom Ltd said its parent China United Telecommunications Group has no plan to inject its GSM network assets in 18 mainland provinces into a possible A-share listing. It said China United is still studying various possibilities for financing its CDMA rollout, including the issue of A-shares. No final decision has been made at this time and the A-share offering is not the only funding alternative, it said. Earlier this week, China Unicom said it may be interested in in acquiring the GSM network assets from its parent.
