Pearl Oriental considering bringing in new investors for unit ebid.com.cn

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - Pearl Oriental Cyberforce LTd said it is considering bringing in new investors for its 60 pct owned subsidiary, ebid.com.cn.	    In a statement, the company said its stake in ebid may be reduced should new investors be brought in.	    However, the company may consider selling its interest in ebid if the terms and conditions are favourable.	    Ebid is involved in the online auction and e-commerce business.	    Following the "drastic change" in the internet business environment, ebid has adjusted its business strategies, transforming from an online business-to-consumer e-commerce to providing retail and sales services through the merger with product distributors and IT solutions on online sales platforms to retail business entities.	    Pearl Oriental rejected newpaper reports that Sohu.com has approached the company to acquire ebid.
