CLP Holdings: Premature to forecast Hong Kong tariff policy for next yr

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - CLP Holdings group managing director Andrew Brandler said it is too premature to say whether the company will raise its tariffs in Hong Kong next year. "We have frozen (our) tariffs for three years. It is too premature to make any projection," he said. Despite the tariff freeze over the past years, Brandler said the company has had no problems in financing its projects in China. "We have ample cash to finance the projects." Chairman Michael Kadoorie said the company will proceed with caution regarding its ISP project in China. "As we are aware of (the developments in) the new economy, we will behave prudently, go forward step by step, to look for ways in bringing value to our shareholders," he said.
