U.S. House votes to endorse Taiwan observer status at WHO
WASHINGTON (AFX-ASIA) - The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed a bill to endorse Taiwan's observer status at the World Health Organisation. Its passage less than three months after being introduced came the same day U.S. President George W Bush formally announced a defensive arms package for Taiwan and is likely to further inflame tensions between the U.S. and China.
