Ningbo Unicom awards 31 mln usd GSM expansion contract to Nortel Networks

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - Ningbo Unicom has awarded a 31 mln usd contract to Nortel Networks to expand its existing GSM dual-band digital cellular network in Ningbo.	    In a statement, Nortel Networks said the expansion will increase Ningbo Unicom's network capacity by 350,000 subscribers to 910,000 subscribers.	    It will also provide the foundation for the introduction of high-performance wireless internet services in Ningbo.	    The expansion service will be in operation by October, the statement added.
