HSBC to issue new shares , HK$190bln to be raised

HSBC(0005) planed to issue 1.9bln shares wothy abut 17.0bln Pound, which accounted for 20% of the issued shares. This was the first time that HSBC demanded to issue more common new shares since 1992.The market analysts supposed that issuing new shares was a preparation for an acquisition  and the target might be Merrill Lynch.
