Hutchison Telephone to launch i-mode service this summer in HK

Keji Techikawa, chairman and CEO of NTT DoCoM, said Hutchison Telephone might launch i-mode service this summer in Hong Kong. Hutchison Telephone is the JV of Hutchison Whampoa (0013) and NTT DoCoM, which accounts for 81% and 19% respectively. Keji Techikawa pointed out Hutchison Telephone would provide technology of I-mode to Hutchison Whampoa (0013) , and relevant service would also be launched in brand of Orange. In the relevant cooperation, NTT DoCoM would not share turnover of relevant business. He believed i-mode would be popular at Hong Kong and Hutchison Telephone would attract more customers for it.
