Hutchison Whampoa Ltd (0013) partners with an Israel company to bid for Bezeq

An Israel-based newspaper Ha'aretz reported that Hutchison Whampoa Ltd (0013) will team up with Partner Communications Co, a mobile company from Israel, to bid for the shares of Bezeq, a telephone company which is on sale by the local government.The Israel Government holds 54% Bezeq shares. The reported didn¡¦t specify the offer.Among the partners of Hutchison Whampoa Ltd are two shareholders of Partner - Danker Investments and Eurocom, with the former holding cable TV company Matav while the later boasting Ofek. Danker will provide access service through cable network and Eurocom offer fixed network service by wireless network.The Partner jointly controlled by Hutchison Whampoa Ltd, Danker and Eurocom will rival against the mobile phone company under Bezeq. Therefore, it was reported that the three parties should cut phone business assets.
