National Semiconductor Corp predicts Q4 loss per share at 4 US cents/to cut 1100

National Semiconductor Corp announced that it plans to lay off 10% of the staff and warned that the drop in turnover of wafer will cause a loss in the forth quarter.The company said that the Q4 earnings to May is forecast to stand at zero and 4 US cents. Restructuring and staff trimming is under consideration in a hope to save US$70-80 mln every year.The Q4 turnover is predicted to be between US$390-400 mln, dropping 16%-18% from the previous quarter, while net profit is expected to be around 41%-42%.
