China 4 mths to April trade surplus 5.39 bln usd: GAC

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) -- China recorded a trade surplus of 5.39 bln usd in the four months to April, with total exports rising 13.2 pct year-on-year to 81.76 bln usd against imports of 76.37 bln, up 17.8 pct, Xinhua reported, citing General Administration of Customs data. Total foreign trade in the four months to April was 158.13 bln usd, up 15.4 pct year-on-year, the agency said in a despatch received here. The GAC data showed exports of overseas-invested companies grew by 23.5 pct in the period to 41.23 bln usd. Xinhua reported that China's imports from the U.S., the European Union, ASEAN and Russia all increased by more than 20 pct, without citing specific figures.
