Dell sees Q2 sales -- 2 (no change to price-cutting strategy)

The PC maker said continued weakness in the U.S. corporate sector was the primary factor behind the expected fall in second-quarter sales. "The demand environment in the U.S. is soft, especially in the corporate sector," said Dell. Turning to the price war currently engulfing the PC market, Dell said it has no plans to reverse its strategy of deep discounting. "Our plan is to continue to pass along the component pricing that we see - which has been continuing to decline last quarter and this - and to use that as a basis for our aggressive pricing stance," said Dell.
