Bank of East Asia plans to open Xian branch in August

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - Bank of East Asia chairman David Li said the bank is planning to open a branch in Xian in August, the Hong Kong Economic Times reported. Li said the bank has acquired a 1,700 square feet office space for the Xian branch, and that the Xian authorities will help foreign investors develop yuan-based businesses. Currently, Bank of East Asia has seven branches in China, the report said.
