Leading shareholder of Smartech Digital further mortgages shares

Smartech Digital Manufacturing Holdings (8068) announced its leading shareholder Diamonds and Pearl Limited had further mortgaged 1.816 bln Smartech Digital shares as the pledges for a 3-year loan valued at HK$7 mln.

Besides, the company announced in February that the mortgaged shares accounted for 41.61% of the existing issued shares, which were totally owned by Diamonds and Pearls. During the period till February 28, 2004, the shares mentioned above would be owned by the agency of the bank and if there should be any selling actions, it should be revealed according to the rules.
