China April gold output up 23% yr-on-yr

Shanghai Daily quoted the State Economic & Foreign Trade Commission Gold Administrative Bureau as saying that China April gold output rose 23% from a year earlier to hit 14.28 tons.

The output from Jan. to March stood at 49.31 tons, up 11% from the same period last year.

It further reported that China planned to produce 150-ton gold this year.
