China reaches agreement with U.S. on return of spy plane: Foreign Ministry

BEIJING (AFX-ASIA) - China has agreed to a U.S. proposal to dismantle the U.S. Navy EP-3 surveillance aircraft stranded on Hainan island and to ship it back to the U.S., a foreign ministry spokesman said. "The U.S. side submitted a proposal to take apart the U.S. aircraft and to transport it back," Zhu Bangzao said. "The Chinese side has agreed to that and the two sides will continue to have consultations on the technical aspects," he added.
