U.S. calls for timely resolution to Indonesia's political problems

WASHINGTON (AFX-ASIA) - A U.S. State Department spokesman has called for a "timely" resolution to Indonesia's political crisis that "promotes reconciliation and effective governance."

"We are prepared to support any resolution that can be achieved through peaceful and constitutional means," spokesman Philip Reeker said at a press briefing here.

The U.S. has been watching developments in Indonesia closely, Reeker said.
