Hutchison Whampoa expects to announce new China port investment project soon

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - Hutchison Whampoa chairman Li Ka-shing said the company is likely to announce a new port investment project in China soon.

In a statement, Li denied that the company is monopolising the port operating business in China.

 "It is impossible for any one to monopolise any business, particularly the transport business in China. Our business in China always creates a win-win situation.

"Ports are long-term investments. We might be able to announce another port project soon," Li said.
