China Everbright may dispose of remaining China Mobile stake

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - China Everbright Ltd chief executive Guo You said the company may sell its remaining stake in China Mobile (Hong Kong) to boost its bottom line.

The South China Morning Post quoted Guo as saying the company does not view its 52 mln China Mobile shares as a long-term investment. 

Guo said China Everbright has made a decent return from its China Mobile investment and expects the disposal, for which he did not give a time-frame, to continue to be a profit engine in the near term.

In the last financial year, China Everbright sold part of its China Mobile stake and the disposal was the main driver for the rise in profit, the report said.
