US unemployment relief applicants soar to 407,000 higher than expectation

US Department of Labor announced that the unemployment relief applicant soared to 407,000 as of May 19, higher than market prediction and showing that the labor market remained weak.

The increased unemployment relief applicant last week rose by 15,000, the new high since 1994, and increasing 116,000 from a year earlier.
