Dow Jones Index falls 31 pts over US Q1 GDP growth amendment

Negatively influenced by the speech of Fed Reserve chairman Greenspan and the downgrading of US Q1 GDP growth to 1.3%, the US stocks went soft last Friday, while Dow Jones Industrial Average Index saw support at a low of 11000 pts. US stocks were dragged down by General Electric and Microsoft Corp (4338) in the early session of last Friday and remained in soft stance for most of the time. Dow Jones Industrial Average Index fell by 117.05 pts, or 1.05% to close at 11005.37 pts. Nasdaq Index slipped 30.99 pts, or 1.36% to 2251.03 pts, while S & P 500 Index cast off 15.28 pts, or 1.18% to 1277.89 pts. The main Tech stocks also went down. ADC Telecom, which released its Q2 loss to be US$1 bln, recorded the biggest down range of 16.42% to close at US$8.6. Cisco System (4333) lost 3.75% to US$22.05, Intel (4335) dropped 0.38% to US$29.1 and Software lost 1.13% to US$70.91.
