Germany permits 3G operators to share network to alleviate financial burden
German telecom authority RegTP said that 6 3G mobile operators would be allowed to share a 3G network in a hope to ease the financial burdens in the debt-ridden companies, overseas news reported. RegTP spokesman said that the 3G operators would share some equipments to jointly shoulder the high expense of 3G network. Six 3G operators won the licenses at 50.8 bln euros last year and analysts estimated that each company would invest 8 bln euros to construct 3G network.
