The plan of Singapore Telecom acquiring C & W Optus obstructed by Seven Network

It was reported by Australian sources that the plan of Singapore Telecom acquiring C & W Optus was obstructed by Seven Network, for Seven Network wrote to Foreign Investment Review Board, hoping to veto the relevant acquisition.

Seven Network said the acquisition would bring negative influence to Australia because Singapore Telecom was held by Singapore government. If Singapore Telecom could successfully acquire C & W, then Singapore government might control the exploring satellite platform of Australia.
