Eden Woon expects China to obtain WTO membership in Jan. next year

Dr Eden Woon, the Director of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, said at a seminar that it cannot be confirmed whether China can join the WTO in 6-7 months, but he hoped that the country can get a place in the organization in Jan. next year.

He also pointed out that the US economy was obscure now but would revive in the forth quarter, adding that he believed that a complete result would come out as for China¡¦s WTO entry at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Organization Meeting scheduled for Nov.
