Dao Heng¡G HSBC to strengthen retail business by acquisition

Dao Heng securities analysts quoted some HSBC management as saying that HSBC Holdings (0005) showed great interest in the Taiwan market and would acquire local commercial banks to cement the retail business.

HSBC management also said that the company intended to expand its presence in Asia. But due to the some governmental regulations, it had little chances to tap business in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
