China has foreign exchange reserve of US$179 bln by end of May

Peopleˇ¦s Bank of China Governor Dai Xianglong said that by the end of May, China had foreign exchange reserve of US$179 bln, significantly increasing US$13.4 bln from last year. However, the figure only registered a rise of US$10.9 bln in the whole 2001.
