Verizon to lay off over 10000 employees

Verizon, US largest regional phone call service provider, announced yesterday to lay off more than 10000 employees to accelerate operating efficiency and restructure low-growth businesses.

Verizon is the product of merging Bell Atlantic and GTE, two big regional phone call service providers. In Feb the company said it will cut off 5% jobs.
