Hutchison Whampoa plans to bid for 4th mobile phone license in India

Hutchison Max Telecom confirmed that Hutchison Whampoa (0013) plans to team up Essar and Kotak Mahindra to bid for the fourth mobile license of India.

With the license, company can run mobile phone services in 22 regions of the country, foreign-fund company can only take 49% shareholding.
