SP lowers Lucent corporate rating to BB+

Standard & Poorˇ¦s announced to downgrade the corporate loan and high-level non-mortgage debt rating of Lucent from BBB- to BB+ and the short-term debt rating from A-3 to B, considering its obscure earnings outlook and the concern that the liquid capital would fail to meet the demands in communications market.

Lucent spokesperson Michelle Davidson expressed no surprise on the lowered ratings, saying that it would pose no significant impact on the company.
