Market share of China Unicom mobile phones increases to 24%

Wang Jian zhou, the executive director of China Unicom (0762), said the number of mobile phones users of the company in May increased 1.113 mln to 18.46 mln. The pre-paid card users represented 21.2% of the total number, of which the pre-paid card users in May accounted for 53% of the newly increased users, said he. According to the data of the first five months, the number of pre-paid card users accounted for 30.7% of the newly increased number.  

He continued to claim that the market share of China Unicom mobile phones in May in China mainland increased from 22.7% of late last year to 24%.
